Artist Lab Report:
Data, Collaging, Sounds, and Maps

by Eric "Oz" Andren

Week two… where has the time gone. The past few days have been full of exploration including a field study on soil, sound recording above and below the water line, creating sound maps, creating light maps, exploring data gathered both digitally and through scientific testing, and a mild first of the year sun burn. In terms of progress—an interface to visualize GLEON Buoy data is beginning to take form and I have completed one of four collages in a series. The series takes compositional cues from the results of chemical compositions we found during our soil field study. I’m looking forward to taking all the inspiration, experiences, and knowledge I have gathered home to continue to work on my projects!
